Prefix requires internet access for the initial activation and registration process. Once properly activated, you can then run Prefix without an active connection. Be sure that your machine can reach https://s1.stackify.com and that the certificate path is trusted.
Behind proxy server
If you're trying to register Prefix from behind a proxy server, we have a detailed guide that explains all the steps necessary to accomplish that: Prefix: Configuring Proxies We offer two configuration options to provide flexibility in the way you can implement the Prefix registration through a proxy server.
Whitelist the http://api.stackify.com domain in your firewall rules until the initial registration completes. After Prefix is registered, the firewall rule can be removed. If you are unable to whitelist domains, see our documentation on Adding Exceptions to a Firewall for an updated IP address for the api.stackify.com domain.
Activation From an Older Version of Prefix
You may sometimes run into issues when activation is attempted from an outdated version of Prefix. To fix this take the following steps:
- Uninstall your current version of Prefix
- Delete the installation folder (Program Files (x86)\StackifyPrefix)
- Download the newest version from here https://stackifyprodwest.blob.core.windows.net/prefix-latest/StackifyPrefixSetup.exe and reinstall.
