# Password Vault

You can save all your stored credentials in Retrace's Password Vault located under Settings-> Passwords. The steps below will show you how to add a new record to the vault that can be used later in Retrace, such as connecting to a database or authenticating a JMX connection.

## Adding a New Record

To store login information in the vault, click "Add new record". You will then be prompted to enter in the credentials for the username and password you wish to store, as well as an Account Title that will give a name to your login information.

## Viewing Your Passwords

If granted access from the Retrace Administrator account, you will be able to view and edit the password for the record selected.

## Using the Credentials

For connections such as database connections and JMX connections that require a username and password, you will be able to select the record you just created to authenticate the connection.
