# Deactivate or Reactivate a User

#### Deactivating a User

Take the following steps to make a Stackify user inactive in your account:

1. Click on the "Manage" button for the user you wish to mark as inactive:

1. Unfilter the inactive users on the Manage Users page:

> Note: We currently do not provide a way to hard-delete a user, but marking the user as inactive will remove them from the account. If you need a user deleted so they can join another account, please contact [support@stackify.com](mailto:support@stackify.com).

#### Reactivating a Deactivated User

Any user that has previously been deactivated can be reactivated as well:

1. From the Manage/Users page toggle the "Show Inactives" checkbox
2. Click "Manage" on an inactive user
3. On the User Settings page under the Licensing & User Status section toggle on the Active checkbox, (re)assign any roles and permissions, and click Save
